Panchatantra:
Brahmin's Wife And Sesame Seeds
Once upon a time, there lived a poor Brahmin family. At one time some guests came to them, all the food and drink items in the house were over. About this a conversation was going on between the Brahmin and the Brahmin's wife:
Brahmin: “Tomorrow morning is karka-sankranti, I will go to another village for alms. There, a Brahmin wants to donate something for the satisfaction of the god sun.”
Wife: “You don't even know how to earn edible food. Being your wife, I have never experienced happiness, don't eat sweets, what to say about clothes and jewelry?”
Brahmin: “Goddess! You should not say so. No one gets money according to one's wish. I also bring food to fill the stomach. Give up craving for more than this. Due to excessive craving, there is a crest rise on the forehead of man.”
The Brahmin asked: “How is this?”
Then the Brahmin narrated this story of the boar, the hunter, and the jackal.
One day, a hunter went to the forest in search of prey. As he went, he saw a black big boar like a mountain of black Anjan in the forest. Seeing him, he pulled the string of his bow to his ears and hit the target. The arrow hit the right place. The boar got injured and ran towards the hunter. The hunter also fell and was injured by the sharp-toothed boar attack. His stomach exploded. The hunter and the hunt both came to an end.
Meanwhile, a wandering and hungry jackal came there. Seeing both the boar and the hunter dead there, he started thinking, “Today we have got very good food by divine. Sometimes good food is available without special effort. It should be called the fruit of previous births.”
Thinking this, he went to the dead corpses and started eating small things first. He remembered that man should use his wealth gradually; It is appropriate to use it like the use of chemicals. In this way, even the least amount of money can work for a long time. Therefore, I will enjoy them in such a way that my life journey continues for many days only by their consumption.
Thinking of this, he decided that he would eat the string of the bow first. At that time the string of the bow was raised; string was tied tightly at both ends of the bow. The jackal took the string in its mouth and chewed it. As soon as it was chewed, the string broke with great speed; And one end of the corner of the bow pierced his forehead and came out, as if a crest had come out of his forehead. In this way, the jackal also died there after getting injured.
The Brahmin said: “That is why I say that excessive greed leads to a crest on the forehead.”
The Brahmin's wife after hearing this story of the Brahmin said: “If this is the case, then there are few moles remaining in my house. After cleaning them, sorting the code and feeding them to the guest.”
The Brahmin, satisfied with his words, went to another village for alms. The Brahmin's wife also started sorting the moles lying in the house according to his promise. When she spread the sesame seeds in the sun to dry them, a dog spoiled those moles with urine and excreta. The Brahmin's wife became very worried. These were the sesame seeds, which he had to cook and give food to the guest. After much thought she thought that if she asks for unprocessed sesame seeds in exchange for these refined sesame seeds, then anyone will give it. No one will even know that they are excruciating.
Thinking this, she kept those sesame seeds in the canopy and started roaming from house to house and said: “Someone should give unsorted sesame seeds in place of these sorted sesame seeds.”
Suddenly, it happened that Brahmin's wife reached a house selling sesame seeds and started saying: “Take the sorted sesame seeds instead of the unsorted ones.”
When the housewife of that house was going to make this deal, her son, who had studied economics, said: “Mother! Don't take these sesame seeds. Who would be the lunatic who would accept the unsorted sesame seeds and give them the sorted sesame seeds. This thing cannot be concluded. Surely, there will be some defect in these trimmed sesame seeds.” So, the mother did not do this deal at the behest of the son.

“Lesson: None work without any reason.”
